Cat Grooming Release
Because we care about your pet's safety and well-being, we want to assure you that every effort will be made by the grooming salon to make your pet's visit as pleasant as possible.
Due to the intimate nature of the grooming process, or a pet's tolerance level for stress, strangers, or handling, pets can become anxious or reactive during the grooming service. Additionally, grooming can expose a hidden medical problem or aggravate a current one. This can occur during or after grooming. Mitten's Pets is not responsible for exposed medical problems.
If we determine that continuing the grooming service would present a threat to your pet's emotional or physical health and/or the safety of the groomer completing the service, we will discontinue the service and contact you immediately.
You authorize permission to Mitten’s Pets to obtain immediate veterinary treatment should it become necessary. This treatment is at the pet owner’s expense.
You authorize permission to Mitten's Pets to reach out to your vet prior to, during, or after an appointment with medical/behavioral concerns, questions, or follow up.
You grant permission to Mitten’s Pets to utilize proper restraints/ hold techniques for the health and safety of your pet provider during the grooming service. You understand and agree that if the grooming establishment deems it unsafe or unhealthy to continue for the pet or the groomer, the grooming establishment will end the groom, and you will be responsible for any services rendered.

Senior Cats
Senior cats ten years and older will need written approval by their vet prior to an appointment. Grooming can exacerbate any medical issues. It can be incredibly hard on a senior cat especially if it is their first time. Therefore, we strongly encourage you to start the grooming process when they are kittens.
You understand and accept that your cat is a senior citizen coming in for grooming and that grooming can increase stress and exacerbate underlying health concerns. By accepting this agreement, you are also acknowledging that you have informed Mitten’s Pets of all medical issues and understand the Mitten’s Pets will not be liable for any medical care, costs, or treatments.

Vaccinations
All cats must be up to date on their rabies vaccination administered at a minimum of 1 week prior to a groom. We do require a physical copy of 1 year or 3-year rabies vaccination. Please email this form to us or upload it directly through your pet parent portal. We will not perform a service without this document.
Transportation
All cats must enter the salon in a cat carrier. Multiple cat households must enter the salon in individual cat carriers. This helps reduce stress for each cat when the cat is removed from the carrier or being placed in it after a groom.
DEPOSITS/CANCELLATION
Tier 1 appointments require no deposit.
Tier 2 appointments require a $50 hold fee- hold fees are not applied to an appointment cost but serve as a buffer in case of future cancellations outside of a cancellation window. Mitten’s Pets must be notified of a cancellation request by email or through direct communication with a team member 48 hours before an appointment to avoid forfeiting the hold fee.
Tier 3 appointments require a 50% nonrefundable deposit. Mitten’s Pets must be notified of a cancellation request by email or through direct communication with a team member 48 hours before an appointment to avoid forfeiting the deposit.

Late Arrivals
It is always courteous to show up on time or early for an appointment. A late fee of $1.50 per minute is applied to the cost of the groom when the pet is not available at the appointment start time. Our time and the other cats scheduled time is just as important as anyone else. We may mark a late appointment as a “no show,” when arrival is late.
Pickup times
Pet parents must pick up their pets no later than 30 minutes after you have been notified of your pet’s pickup time. Please prepare to block off a 3-hour window for your cat’s groom appointment.
Refunds
Their are no refunds for any service.

Your cat is cute and helps us to provide information for other pet parents! Mitten’s Pets takes photos and video for use on social media and other platforms.

Our grooming prices and policies are subject to change at any time and without notice. Prices are variable and are based on temperament, coat condition and the economy.
