My cat gets stressed out in a new environment. How will you handle that?
Cats are creatures of habit. Any change whether small or big can be stressful for them. What we offer is a unique environment exclusively for our cats that already helps minimize a major stress factor which can be dog smells, sightings, and sounds. When a cat gets dropped off, we encourage pet parents to see them settled in their new cottage. We give them time to settle in and accept their new surroundings and then we stop in and do a introductory visit with them. All these little measures goes a long way to helping our boarders get acclimated.
Do I need to bring food and personal belongings?
We encourage our pet parents to bring home comforts such as your cat's favorite blankets, toys, and treats. This helps them get more comfortable in their new space. Scratching posts and other smaller items are also welcomed and encouraged. Cats need to come with their own food to assist with normal feeding habits. Food should be enough for the duration of their stay and packed with original label.
What kind of kennels do you use?
We do not use traditional cages or towers for our kitty boarders. Our cottages and suites are created using greenhouses. Our greenhouses offer plenty of lighting and air flow. This provides more visibility for our team and an airy, spacious option for our cats.
How often will you check on my cat?
Our team does a housekeeping visit to each boarder every morning. Changing the bedding, cleaning the litter box and feeding are the morning routine. Additionally, we are visiting with your cat throughout the day, monitoring your cat for any changes in behavior, appetite, or needs that may arise including changing bedding or litter boxes as needed. We give each cat time to socialize with staff and ensure enrichment time during their stay. Also, the entire staff visits each kitty to throughout the day. This communication amongst team members helps ensure proper health and well being of your fur baby while boarding.
Do you offer complementary services?
Although we try not to overwhelm your cat during his or her stay with too many add-on services, we do offer nail trims and a bath and blowout during the stay.
What is Mitten's Pets Cancellation Policy?
We offer a 7 day cancellation window. At the time of booking, a 50% deposit was taken. Deposits are fully refundable if cancellation is made no later then 7 days before the start of a stay. If a cancellation is made outside of this, deposits are non refundable
What is Your Cleaning Policy?
Each of our cottages and suite are disinfected from top to bottom between every stay. We do a through cleaning of each boarders room daily and bedding is washed once a week.
