Grooming Service agreement
Because we care about your pet's safety and well-being, we want to assure you that every effort will be made by the grooming salon to make your pet's visit as pleasant as possible.
Due to the intimate nature of the grooming process, or a pet's tolerance level for stress, strangers, or handling, pets can become anxious or reactive during the grooming service. Additionally, grooming can expose a hidden medical problem or aggravate a current one. This can occur during or after grooming. Mitten's Pets is not responsible for exposed medical problems.
If we determine that continuing the grooming service would present a threat to your pet's emotional or physical health and/or the safety of the groomer completing the service, we will discontinue the service and contact you immediately.
You authorize permission to Mitten’s Pets to obtain immediate veterinary treatment should it become necessary. This treatment is at the pet owner’s expense.
You authorize permission to Mitten's Pets to reach out to your vet prior to, during, or after an appointment with medical/behavioral concerns, questions, or follow up.
You grant permission to Mitten’s Pets to utilize proper restraints, muzzles, and hold techniques for the health and safety of your pet provider during the grooming service. You understand and agree that if the grooming establishment deems it unsafe or unhealthy to continue for the pet or the groomer, the grooming establishment will end the groom, and you will be responsible for payment of any services rendered or time spent.

Vaccinations
- Rabies as required by state law. Dogs must be up to date on their rabies vaccination administered at a minimum of 1 week prior to a groom. We do require a physical copy of 1 year or 3-year rabies vaccination. Please email this form to us or upload it directly through your pet parent portal. We will not perform a service without this document.
- Distemper vaccination suggested but not required. Distemper is a highly contagious viral disease that affects a dog's respiratory, gastrointestinal, and nervous system. Distemper vaccination does not 100% protect a dog, but it’s a starting point for health and wellness especially in a facility with other pets.
- Flea and tick prevention is required for the wellfare of all pets in our salon and needed at a minimum of 3 days before a groom appointment or monthly if already on a regiment. Receipt or package needed as verification. We will not apply flea and tick medication on any pet nor will we accept a pet for grooming without this without a medical release from a veterinarian.
- Mitten's Pets is not responsbile for any medical concerns, fleas, ticks, or other topical or internal medical issues upon leaving our facility.
Entry into the salon
- Dogs must be leashed at all times and on non-flexible leashes for the safety of other pets and people. Dogs can be carried, but must still be leashed.
- Dogs must be pottied before entering the facility.
- Dogs that urinate in our facility or constant urination and feces during grooming will incur a cleaning fee. Our groom windows ensure dogs are completed in a timely manner so as to not have bowel concerns while at the groomer.
- Respect of other dogs and people is a must. Do not allow your dog to greet another pet or person without the permissipn of the pet parent. Not every dog appreciates being greeted or may be in training.
Late Arrivals
It is always courteous to show up on time or early for an appointment. A late fee of $1.50 per minute is applied to the cost of the groom when the pet is not available at the appointment start time. An appointment may be cancelled at the groomers discretion and your deposit forfeited. Our time and the other pets scheduled time is just as important as anyone else. We may mark a late appointment as a “no show,” when arrival is late.
Deposits/Cancelations
Bath appointments require a $30 nonrefundable deposit while full groom appointments require a $50 non refundable deposit.
Mitten’s Pets must be notified of a cancellation request by email or through direct communication with a team member 48 hours before an appointment to avoid forfeiting the deposit. Cancellations made at a minimum of 48 hours prior to an appointment, your deposit can be transferred to a rescheduled appointment or put on your account as a credit for future use up to 3 times for the same appointment.

Refunds
There are no refunds for any service. Please ensure your grooming wishes are clearly stated at the time of dropoff and your pet's grooming service reviewed prior to leaving our facility to ensure no adjustments need to be made. Please note, without a breed standard groom to follow, all grooms are considered creative cuts and can be adjusted at a follow up appointment to fit the look you are going for.
Pickup Times
Pet parents must be available to pick-up during the designated pick-up window. Pick-up times vary between breeds and services, but are generally between 1-4 hours at time of dropoff. We are unable to provide daycare services for dogs at this time. If we have to board your pet longer than the pick-up window, a service fee starting at $15 dollars will be added for potty breaks and kenneling.
